Trying to forget the tragedy that happened to his wife, once a famous pianist Edward Saroyan works at a bar under the name Charlie Kohler. But his attempts to hide from life unsuccessful: Charlie falls in love with a waitress, Lena. Comically intimidated at the sight of Lena, Charles, meanwhile, turns easily intrigue with its neighbor — a prostitute Clarissa.
