Elite Squad

In 1997, before the visit of the Pope to Rio de Janeiro, captain Nascimento from bope (battalion of special police operations) receives the task to eliminate the danger from drug dealers, operating in dangerous slums near the residence of the Pope. Captain Nascimento is looking for someone that can replace him as captain's wife is pregnant and he's going to leave FOSS and become a mentor recruits. Meanwhile, two other idealist Neto and Matias begin service in the military police force expecting to become honest policemen and fight crime. However, they face a military police corruption, lack of professionalism and bureaucratic idiocy. Following a serious incident in Moro Yes Babylon they decide to join the bope. The way captain Nascimento, Neto and Matias are closely intertwined for several months, first in a hard period of training, then in operation against drug dealers. Of Nascimento believes that Neto could replace him, but the impulsive nature Neto difficult decision.
