November 4 1979 as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But in the chaos of six manages to slip away and find refuge in the home of the canadian Ambassador. Realizing that their detection and likely murder — only a matter of time, Tony Mendez, a CIA expert on secret removal of people from the country, offers a risky plan for safe evacuation.
